The Independence Bureau
At present no more than a concept and this web page, The Independence Bureau aims to:
- Deliver Secretarial and Support Services useful to independent consultants and other "urban hunter gatherers"
- Provide flexible working arrangements to suit both clients and the supporters
- Use IT to be as location independent as is sensible. People will need to see each other, but perhaps not very often.
- Take full advantage of the richness and flexibility of modern Personal Computer systems
As an independent myself, I know my needs for support fluctuate a lot, and I have come to depend upon the PC for many of the tasks I do. But I would also value help and support so long as this is effective, and leaves me with the flexibility of the technology undamaged.
